The Review

Well I must say the time has finally come for us to cast a final opinion on the two most awaited games of this year and that is Quake 3 and Unreal Tournament. I have come to terms that both are done especially well in there own ways. First Quake3 has carried on it's legendary style of frag'em up and sort'em out later theme and I must say there arenas are fantastic when it comes to detail. Second the player models are very abundant on Quake3, I mean you won't be needing to concern yourself with will there be a model I like. I'm sure there will be since you have 32 different kinds to chose from (not colors) models. Then we get to game play now this is where we divide, there are four different kinds of game play on Quake 3 an three of them being classics. You have your standers like CTF, Death Match, and Team Death Match. Now here is there curve ball, you can play there Tournament version which is basically a one on one Death Match, but the other competitors watch. So if you see a game on the server screen that says 12of 12 there are 10 people watching what is going on in spectator mode until one kills the other however many times to get to the frag limit. Then the next set come in and you play round robin style until there is a clear winner. I must say I personally find that pretty Interesting. The only downfalls I see with this game are lack of maps and lack of ideas. There are only five CTF maps and only a handful on innovation. They should have tried to add something new I mean take it way out on a limb, now don't get me wrong I like the Tournament part of it and who can pass up Quake's classic CTF but they should have taken it further, and that my friends is where Unreal Tournament has gone.

Unreal Tournament has to be one if not the only one to take first person shooters to another level. They have made so many drastic improvements over the original release Unreal, that it is amazing that this was produced by the same company. Unreal Tournament is so out there with new game styles like assault and domination that it is hard to believe these where not created earlier, but then again who ever thought of these kind of concepts. Like getting into a boat and blowing up the generator and then driving it out, or jumping out of a helicopter just so you can run to the front of a speeding train to take over the controls. These are just a view things you will find in the game style Assault for Unreal Tournament. Now in Domination you will find this is a very team oriented game where your whole team will have to think as one. Because you have to control way points (three of them in most cases) to gain points. For every way point with your banner on it you get a point and if your team controls two the speed of you getting points doubles and three .ect . I must say that is very creative, but wait for all you traditionalist out there, there are your classic also like Team Death Match, Death Match, and CTF so you can get your fill also. Unreal Tournament comes with 50 yes 50 map right out of the box so you will have plenty of fragging grounds to practice on, and I'm sure that you will find plenty of player models to suit your taste. Like the ever so popular War Machine skin, where it looks like they have taken something right out of the movie terminator. Another add bonuses for Unreal Tournament is its stat tracking capabilities with complete support of ngStatWorld right out of the box. So you can keep track of how many frags you have or (in my case) how many deaths you have. Although don't be surprised to see ngStatWorld make a patch for Quake 3 because they did host the event down in Texas know as Quake Com.

The Final conclusion

To sum it all up I must say these are some killer games and there is no lack of pixel beauty here. Either one is a very good choice but it looks to me like Unreal Tournament is the way to go for variety and playability not to mention the fun factor when playing Assault or Domination, but don't get me wrong Quake 3 is not a bad game just limited for right now, I guess that's why there are map makers and Mod builders. If it wasn't for Quake 3 they wouldn't have as much to do :)

Single Player

Well I just finished Unreal Tournament's single player game and it was fun but very hard at the same time, I must say the bots on UT are by far more difficult than Quakes  per say settings wise. Godlike on UT is a lot  harder  than  Nightmare on Quake 3 but still Godlike or Nightmare are so hard you will want to throw your monitor out on the street. We are looking at opening are 1 vs.1 tournament in two weeks so if this sounds like something that interest you make sure to make it a point to drop us a line

Get Down to Business

Well the time has come for everyone to buckle down and get ready to do some hardcore fragging. We now are at full speed for Unreal Tournament and we wish for everyone sign up for what events they want to play in. We will post clans as fast as we can rank them and we will set up all the first challenge posting as soon as all the spots are filled. This is really going to be able to separate the men from the boys now, because when you say you have the best clan you'll be able to back it up with hardcore true stats. What more could you ask for then to be able to run all kinds of smack and not have anyone say anything to you about it (but we here at UTCC don't recommend hurting anyone's feelings)*wink* *wink*. On a more serious note we are taking all kinds of input on the tournaments we have scheduled for the upcoming months and we are right now deciding on PRIZES like HARDWARE related items. I hope to see you posted soon till then "shoot straight and Frag Hard "

Welcome

Welcome to UT Clan Center  this site will be dedicated to you the Unreal Tournament player we hope to be able to provide you with on going ladders and Quality Tournaments. We will also be ranking clans using the ngWorldStats system. Meaning the clan with the most highly ranked players will be number one. If another clan lower beats a higher clan then the lower clan will get more rating points, but if a higher clan beats a lower clan then they will also gain points but not as much. This way it keeps higher clans playing higher clans to keep there rankings but they will have to except at least one challenge every two weeks. from a lower clan, this way it lets the lower clans strive to be the best. There will be more rules posted along the way as we near are first ladders and tournaments. For any questions or comments you might have feel free to drop us a line

We would like to send a huge thank you to Unreal Universe, UT Center and Unreal Nation for making the opening of Clan Universe a success. We are at full speed right now and are ready to take all the clans that apply for the ladders everything has been updated as we go and clans are pouring in and we will try to keep updating the ladders as fast as we can as the night continues.
